Bentong is a busy town about 40km away from Kuala Lumpur, and lies along one of two major trunk routes to Fraser's Hill. It has a fairly large population density with modern infrastructure and industrial activity, but with an equal mix of colonial shophouses. Most of the locals here are Chinese, which translates to many traditional restaurants called 'kopitiams' that serve great cultural food. Its neighbouring town is Raub, also of similar size and economic progress. A famous attraction about 10km away to Bentong is the Chamang Waterfalls. Also, about 8km before Bentong is the entrance to another beautiful waterfall called Lata Hammers (requires trekking).
